The Dept. of Modern Greek Studies of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is the best Bachelor study (of all 127 Bachelor studies) in Amsterdam and the 3rd best one in the Netherlands in 2020 according to the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2020. The Keuzegids Universiteiten is an independent organisation that judges annually the quality of all Dutch universities on the grounds of a number of parameters, such as student evaluations, job perspectives and information provided by the Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO). There are 127 Bachelor study programms offered in Amsterdam by the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Free University of Amsterdam (VU).
The NGNS congratulates the students and staff of the Department of Modern Greek Studies with this big
success which is an acknowledgement of the quality of the studies offered by this department in the center of the Dutch capital.
Since the foundation of the Marilena Laskaridis Chair of Modern Greek Studies by the NGNS, with the Laskaridis Foundation as chief sponsor, the Department of Modern Greek Studies also offers courses on Master level and PhD studies as well. An MA-track in Modern Greek within the MA program in Literature, Culture and Society will be introduced as per next academic year (2020-2021).
